Considering cats and mostly dogs, I don’t know if there has been more cruelty lately or if it’s simply a matter of media outlets finally making room for such stories… The thing is a percentage of Brazilian population is appalled by the recent events: A small Yorkshire beaten to death by his “master” and then thrown by the window… A small dog buried alive by his “master” and so many other horror stories have made people decide it was time to demand strict laws to protect these animals because right now, there are none.
Slaughter your dog and you’ll get away with it, kill 60 helpless puppies and kittens and you’ll get away with it; Brazil is after all, the country where everything goes unpunished.
Yesterday, peaceful “marches” took places in dozens of cities and while the impact caused is close to zero, it was good to see people taking over the streets again. Brazilians need to learn how to use our power to demand action from politicians.
On a selfish note, I’m very proud that the event in my city was organized solely by my friend
clara_habib. She’s a star.

Chilling with my friend Galahad. :)
